Something About Pulau Aman









            " WELCOME TO PULAU AMAN "




Pulau Aman or the “Island of Peace” and gives us the review that it is the gateway to tranquillity and serenity. Situated on an island covering an area of 288 acres, it is 2.5 nautical miles from the mainland just off the coast of SeberangPerai’s southern district. The nearest town is Bukit Tambun. This island also located between Pulau Pinang bridge which is the longest in Asia Tenggara and second Pulau Pinang bridge that still in progress.

An idyllic fishing village with a population of only three hundred, the majority of people on Pulau Aman are elderly folks and laughing, care free children. Life on Pulau Aman is simple and traditional with man and nature co-existing in harmony with one other. Here the warmth of the sun is only rivalled by the warm friendliness of the locals.

Fishing, water sports and jungle trekking are some of the popular activities of holiday-makers on the island. Places of interest, each with their own fascinating story to tell, await the exploration of the adventurous.

Transportation 
From North-South Expressway take the Ayer Hitam exit (Interchange 244) and drive towards Kluang and onwards using the Kluang-Jemaluang trunk road.
After Jemaluang town, get onto the Kota Tinggi-Mersing trunk road, heading towards Mersing. Look out for signboards that will lead you to Mersing Jetty. Aman Island is approximately 45 minute's boat ride from Mersing Jetty.
Tanjung Leman's ferry is an alternative to get to the Aman Island, journey from Tanjung Leman's ferry takes about 40 minutes via speed boat.


 Night at Pulau Aman
Public facilities include a jetty, picnic shelters, barbecue pits, tables, changing rooms and toilets are available. The beach front is really the prime nightspot of Aman Island, with a seafood BBQ area for open-air dining served by barbecue pits and tables that line its side. For those who choose to settle down under the trees that are near to the forest, do keep an watchful eyes on the macaque monkeys which are known to prey on visitor's belongings.
